Lead This Life: Being Faithful in the Season You're Actually In

Some weeks you can feel yourself living for the next thing. After the competition. After the season ends. After the calendar finally clears. We tell ourselves the real living starts once life calms down.

But Scripture gently interrupts that story.

"Only let each person lead the life that the Lord has assigned to him, and to which God has called him." (1 Corinthians 7:17)

Paul wrote those words to a church full of people in wildly different circumstances. Married and single. Settled and uprooted. Comfortable and struggling. And to every one of them he said the same thing. Lead the life the Lord assigned you. Not the one you are waiting on. Not the one you would have picked. The one you are actually living, today.

That word "assigned" is worth sitting with. Your season is not an accident or a holding pattern. It was handed to you on purpose, by a God who is paying attention. The carpool chaos, the quiet you did not ask for, the waiting, the full house or the empty one. None of it is wasted. It is the very ground He is using to grow you.

What this looks like on a Tuesday

Faithfulness is rarely dramatic. It usually looks like showing up fully in the small, unglamorous middle of your week.

It looks like meeting with God before you meet with your inbox. It looks like being present with the people in front of you instead of mentally living in next month. It looks like trusting that obedience in a hidden season counts just as much as obedience in a visible one.

You do not have to wait for a better chapter to walk faithfully with God. You can do it right here, in the one you are in.

Find the place on your calendar where you have quietly squeezed God out to make room for everything else. Then ask Him to help you give that slot back.
