Most women aren't actively walking away from truth.
They're just slowly being pulled by louder voices.
In Episode 18 of the Grounded Growth Podcast, Nicole and Stephanie talk about what happens when we stop anchoring ourselves in biblical truth and start building on shifting opinions, cultural pressure, and emotional reactions instead.
Because when truth isn't our foundation, everything starts to feel unstable, even if we can't explain why.
Nicole opens with a distinction many women feel but rarely name: the difference between worldly folly and holy wisdom.
Worldly wisdom tells us to follow our feelings, define our own truth, and trust ourselves above everything else. It sounds empowering, but the problem is that our feelings change. Our perspectives shift. And if we're building our lives on something that constantly moves, we're going to have a very unstable foundation.
Holy wisdom, on the other hand, calls us back to something that is unchanging, God. It invites us to anchor ourselves in truth that doesn't shift based on culture, emotions, or circumstance.
And the drift away from truth isn't one big decision. It's the small compromises over time that slowly pull us in a different direction.
When truth isn't anchoring us, the effects show up internally before they show up externally.
Confusion replaces clarity. You start second-guessing your values, your mission, your vision, and your purpose. Comparison and insecurity creep in because without truth, we look outward to figure out who we are instead of looking to God's Word.
Nicole shares how she allowed her emotions to drive her decisions, especially during seasons of overwhelm and burnout. When we're taking on so much with limited capacity, it's easy to let the easiest path take over instead of staying rooted in what's true.
Stephanie adds that the emotional exhaustion of not being grounded in truth is real, because there's no solid ground to stand on.
Nicole breaks down four things truth produces in our lives:
Nicole and Stephanie share practical rhythms for staying grounded in truth:
"Everyone then who hears these words of mine and does them will be like a wise man who built his house on the rock." (Matthew 7:24)
We are always building something with our lives. The question isn't whether we're building, it's what we're building on. When you're rooted in truth, you're not shaken the same way. People notice when you live differently because of the assurance you have in your faith.
Truth protects your identity. It reminds you who you are when everything else feels loud. And it keeps you grounded when emotions fluctuate.
